The Upper Grand River Metropark sits on 135 acres and is located at 3199 Cork Cold Springs Rd, Austinburg, Ohio.
This property is under a conservation easement with Western Reserve Land Conservancy (WRLC). It is subject to the requirements of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Scenic Rivers Program, which governs publicly funded properties and projects within 1,000 feet of the State Scenic River.
Funding was provided through Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), Paddling Enhancement Grant (PEG) and Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) Biennium Fund Program. This enabled the public parking, enhanced the existing trails and installation of river access trail.
This former youth and religious camp has been transformed into a wildlife and river sanctuary in a bend in the Grand River between the Morgan Swamp Preserve and Harpersfield Covered Bridge Metropark. This conservation easement protected park encompasses 3/4 mile of Grand River frontage, soaring forests, wetlands, unusual wildflowers and wildlife habitat, boat launch, and trails.
